Your odds of success increase dramatically if you have a coach. It’s true in sports and it’s true in developing the habits for lifelong control of your weight. A Coach that has done it adds experience and passion to techniques they can teach you.

Lose weight and improve your overall health

Learn how to make healthy choices and reach your goals through nutrition and fitness

Gain motivation and support from your NFL Alumni coach and the NFL Alumni Tackle Obesity community

1.) Lose weight and improve your overall health

Set realistic goals.

Don’t try to lose too much weight too quickly. Aim to lose 1-2 pounds per week.

Make small changes to your diet and exercise routine.

For example, you could start by eating one more serving of vegetables per day or walking for 30 minutes three times per week.

Be patient.

Losing weight and getting healthy takes time and effort. Don’t expect to see results overnight.

Don't give up.

There will be setbacks along the way, but it’s important to keep going.

2.) Learn how to make healthy choices and reach your goals through nutrition and fitness

Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals.

For example, instead of saying “I want to lose weight,” say “I want to lose 10 pounds in 3 months.”

Identify your triggers and challenges.

What are the things that make it difficult for you to make healthy choices? Once you know what your triggers and challenges are, you can develop strategies for overcoming them.

Find support.

Having a support system can be helpful when you’re trying to make healthy changes. Talk to your friends, family, doctor, or a registered dietitian about your goals and ask for their support.

Reward yourself for your successes.

When you reach a goal, reward yourself with something that you enjoy. This will help you stay motivated and on track.

3.) Gain motivation and support from your NFL Alumni coach and the NFL Alumni Tackle Obesity community

Attend all of your coaching sessions.

Your coach is there to help you succeed. By attending all of your coaching sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to learn new things, get support, and stay accountable.

Be open and honest with your coach about your progress and challenges.

Your coach can’t help you if they don’t know what you’re going through. Be open and honest with them about your progress and challenges so that they can provide you with the best possible support.

Ask for help when you need it.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help from your coach or other participants in the NFL alumni Tackle Obesity community. Everyone is there to support each other.
